High-Performance Fine-Grained Stainless Steel - Features

Grain-Refined (Fine-Grained) Stainless Steel

  • 1. Higher strength
  • 2. Improved fatigue strength
  • 3. High polishability
  • 4. Non-magnetic
  • 5. Grain refinement achieves both excellent strength and workability.
  • 6. Grain refinement results in a smoother machined surface.
  • 7. Maintaining post-processing smoothness can reduce subsequent operations such as mechanical polishing.
General elastic materials are magnetic, whereas fine-grained material exhibits weak magnetism or is non-magnetic.

Grain-Refined (Fine-Grained) Stainless Steel - Features

Comparison: Conventional SUS304 vs Fine-Grained Material

・NSSC-NAR-301L SE1 reduces residual stress; warpage caused by half-etching is smaller than H-SR.
・Unique surface treatment improves adhesion between the material and etchant.
・Grain size is ≤ 2 μm; the cut edge after etching and laser processing is as smooth as H-SR3; in addition, shapes become sharper.
・ Grain refinement yields a smoother surface after bending processes.
・Because the processed surface is smooth, post-processes such as electrolytic polishing can sometimes be reduced.
・Compared with SUS304 H, it has higher elongation and superior workability.
